Dr. Lori was born in Anniston, Alabama in 1963 as Lori Annette to both parents with five other siblings. Lori Annette is the name given to her by her mother which means victorious and full of grace. (Fun fact) she was also given the name Komeh which is her Sierra Leonean Mende tribe name. In 2018 she was restored to her mother's family line in Sierra Leone West Africa and given the name Komeh (Mama Komeh) by 13 of the village Chiefs in a Diaspora Naming and Restoration Ceremony. She also received her citizenship (pasdport) bestowed upon her by the Sierra Leonean President Mada Bio. She is honored to now call herself a Sierra Leonean- American both of which Countries she loves.
